cant format 1 partition???

I just did my annual rebuilt and swapped some hardware around, and for some reason, i cant format the last partition on my hard drive. Is there a limit of how many partitions?

there is a limit of how many primary partitions, if i remember correctly you can only have 3 or 4. now if you change it over to a extended partition then you can have many more.

Hi TK,

It must be max 4, because i have 4 and cant go past it.

I had created an extra partition to try and run LinuxMCE and dual boot with XPpro sp2. (which i havent fully researched yet)

If you do Primary partitions you can only make 4 partitions on one HD (4 on each disks)
but if you do Logical partitions then there is not limits except for the drive letters from A to Z

Performances? there is no differences between primary ,extended or logical partitions as far as performance goes
