Question Quick SpeedFan Question

What is Temp3 and Temp1 from? I cant figure if they are the hard drive temperature, or the South bridge temperate, or the North bridge temperature.

Any help would be appreciated!

Default Re: Quick SpeedFan Question

Well ACPI is a power management protocol. The temp is probably a power regulator, but could be anything from a battery in a laptop to a power supply.

The IT8718F chip has built in fan control, so the 25 degree sensor is probably somewhere on the board away form hot spot to measure case temp. That would give the programers a near ambient temperature, cpu temp and mobo temp to program a fans thermal response. I'm guessing here, unless the manufacturer programs in a label such as "cpu" the probe could be anywhere or not even used. It is most definitely a motherboard sensor though.
