| A friend linked me to this last night, and though I have not had time to fully explore it's capabilities, I found at least one usefull app in it so far...CPU wattage ![]() I had used that PSU calculator from Xtreme Systems the other day using these same settings, and it returned similar numbers...so I would say it's going to be in the same ballpark. It is kind of eye opening how a stock "Quad Core" QX6800 can go from 75 watts at 2.93 GHZ (1.2v) to nearly 140 watts at an easily achievable 3.5GHZ (1.5v)..and then to a "Ludicrous" 230 watts at 4.5GHZ with 1.7v ![]() Anyways...it looks like alot of the apps are geared towards AMD 64/Athlon XP when I was poking around, only a few of the apps have been updated for Core 2 Duo/AM-2, but the author seems to be updating it on a regular basis with patches, I think there is one more I have to add yet. Here is what it includes, so have some fun, and play around with some of the apps, and report back with your results here EDIT: I just added the Author to my MSN IM, when he gets back with me, I may be able to give him some input on how to improve the app, so any feedback here would be much appreciated, I sent him a link to this thread! EDIT 2: The author is on board now...leave any questions or suggetions here! There is another thread over at Xtreme Systems.org that is a bit older and has quite a bit of more detailed information in there. | Apex Techie Lite | now I am chatting with Necro at MSN.
Of course you have my permissions to upload OcBible and its patches and Guidemania on PCApex's downloading section. ![]()
Thank you mate.
CPU wattage supports many CPUs. But if your CPU is not listed then you can visit Chris Hare's webpage and add the necessary info (click on web icon).
No any patch is different. Last edited by MrSeanKon; 02-July-07 at 03:57 PM. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Techie Lite | mate ![]() Well to inform all people: 1) OcBible & Guidemania are totally freeware. 2) Both programs require Microsoft Framework. Here is the official supported thread and has all links to other supported threads around the world. You should check the Aoaforums cos I post there infos, announcements and patches. Of course I will inform $SOLID$ Necro at MSN or via u2u. What does u2u mean?? ![]() Guidemania (a huge overclocking guides collection) has a list with many acronyms inside. ![]() To continue CPU wattage calculates the emmited watts of your CPU. These are the heat transfer from CPU to cooling system. This does not mean that the CPU (the second example of $SOLID$ Necro's post consumes 230 Watts of electricity! To understand what I mean check the Aoaforums supported thread. Intel overclocking guide Although I am an AMD fan I have collected some Intel samples. Generally speaking (OK $SOLID$ Necro??????) any user who has an AMD sample which differs than my current samples SHOULD RUN General CPU estimator. However cheating the OcBible see here some examples you can run the specific AMD estimators. But don't bother me in this case cos the program may calculate wrong values. For this reason ALWAYS I WHEN I BUY A NEW PROCESSOR I follow the basics which are described in Guidemania. Nevertheless we can use the specific AMD estimators for Intel CPUs! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Open my personal Intel database (included in OcBible) and fasten your belt cos we will fly!!!!!!!!!!!! Celeron 2GHz Settings: Result: NOTE THAT I EDITED the values in comboboxes (for multiplier and Vcores) and the proper values entered. Last edited by MrSeanKon; 17-July-07 at 02:32 AM. | |

| Apex Techie Lite | CeleronD 2.4GHz Settings: Result: Not bad don't you think??????? Prescott 3GHz HT Result: $SOLID$ Necro what's your opinion now? ![]() Please post here comments and info about your system. You have AMD or Intel? Subzero cooled??? Can you upload here a MSF table?? Do you measure Vcores using a multimeter? Just to improve the OcBible Intel estimators. | |
