Basic SATA interface cards [no RAID] seem to come two-channel, meaning two drives.

Wonder if you could put two of them in a single-system?

A $20 IDE card would allow you to do that.

yeah BA's exactly right. just buy a PCI IDE controller card. I have one in my sytem, it has 2 channels for 4 drives, so with the mobo i can have 8. as of now i just have each drive on its own channel.

OH SATA.... well you can still get an SATA controller that does the same thing.

ps: you're a whore for having that much drive.

if u want one TB then u can do it 2 ways, get a mobo with ide raid and just dont have raid on it and use it as normal ide channels or get the asus P4c800 with dual sata which has 2 ide and 4 sata ports and it is a fast as hell board too. or u can get the sata card personaly i just use the raid boards and a ide card

Try not to fill it up coz then you have to get more HDs

pssst!

BTW 4x250Gb HDs will not give you one real Tb

You'd probably need another 100gig hdd to get a "true" tera on your computer, like how my 80gig only reads 74.5. =\ Just wondering, why you want to do this? Also, why not RAID?

It was either the florida state or florida gator logo. I choose this one since i am a huge fan of both those team's. The 4 hd's i want for video encoding & trading (appz,moviez,mp3's) I am still thinking of only going with two since going four require's alot of $$$. Three year's is due time for my big upgrade since most of you fry my current cpu

Yeah, I had a friend of mine build me a comp years ago and asked him about why he didnt partition the HD. He told me with fat32 (win 98 days) you don't need to partion. That was until I went to defrag. Now I hardley ever use any partion over 15 gigs unless it is mostly storage.
