Default laptop hard drive in desktop

i got this old computer a few weeks ago and it has 2 little tiny harddrives....i have an old mp3 jukebox with a 20gig laptop harddrive that i wanna put in this computer.....is there a way for me to make a homemade adaptor to hook it up to the ide cable?........i know that ide cables r 40 pin and laptop hds r 44 pin....i'm assuming the extra 4 pins r for power?.....if thats true then does anyone have a pin diagram so i can solder on a molex?.......thanks....

Yes the extra 4 pins are for power. Just buy one for $2-$10 on newegg, bestbuy, ebay, etc. They are dirt cheap.

i got one from CompUSA for like $10..Had to use it since the mobo on my laptop wouldn't boot from the XP cd.. I plan on using it permanently with a laptop HD when i build my mini computer..

I'm using one as the main in this rig as we speak. The adaptors are butt-cheap, so do yourself a favor and pick one up rather than solder junk...

Directron, NewEgg, GoogleGear, and local stores should all carry them...
