Default PSU Window mod help

Ok, so we've all seen the PSU window mods...UV, fan holes, etc....cool. Here's a scenario that I'm sure is more common than I wish to consider (i.e.- My scenario). Top-mounted window on the case. Want to see PSU mod window through top window. PSUs only mount in opposite direction. Window mod on PSU not visible through top window on case. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

With some cases you can turn it over. antec and clones you can turn the mounting plate upside down, then you can turn the psu over.

But with a dremel and a drill you can make yours do the same.

If the mounting plate isn't removable, all you have to do is drill the new screwholes and put a curve around the exhaust fan with a dremel. Had to do it to one case.

See, I'd love to just redo the holes...but I'm not all about getting little metal shards all up in my case. And fortunately, I wouldn't have to cut anything for the exhaust fan. The back panel for the PSU is completely open so the fan would fit just fine after the PSU is flipped over. But any suggestions on being safe with the drilling would be welcomed

Drill from the outside in. Go slow and don't push so all the shavings fall outside. Slap a piece of duct tape on the inside where you are drilling and that will help keep the shavings down.

1. Remove PSU
2. Get a decent trash bag
3. Use masking tape and secure the trash bag around the psu mounting location from the inside.
4. Drill and the onl shards that will go anywhere will be in the bag or on the other side of the case,
in which case you should take measures to prevent, or just clean up afterwards

If you have a friend(no pun intended) have him or her hold the vacum to where your drilling as well.

Of course what I would do is yank the mobo before working on it, but that's just me.

HaHa, true that....it's ghetto rigged in there for now. I'm not sure if the mod window will quite fit though. The moulding from the top-mount case window is lightly pressing against the PSU right now and I've read that the PSU window mods increase the dimensions a bit.
