Question Mod a DB-15 connector to use for a TV?

Ok, here's my question. Can I buy a DB-15 connector, or rip one off an old monitor...and use some of those wires and use it as composite video-out? I have TV-out on my Geforce4, but on nvidia cards TVout removes display from your main monitor, and moves it to the TV..what I want to do is rewire it so I can use the TV as a second monitor. Is this possible? The TV supports 1024x768 res...any ideas?

I was thinking that I could get a db15 at radioshack, but after that I don't know where to go. any takers?

Nvidia doesn't let you use your tv and your monitor at the same time? That's odd, cause it works fine for me. And you have to buy like a 200 dollar converter box

Its not possible HappyCamper, composite and VGA on your monitor are completely differant formats, ever seen TechTV? They have monitors and tv's running at the same time so apparantly they use something that makes that possible...personally I have no idea where to get such a converter/splitter, but I will update this post if I find anything on google

Edit: If you have dual ramdac's you usually can run dual displays at once...odd that you can't Kage
(BTW Kage come on to instant messenger )
Well, I found this on google...

Tinker with your driver settings there must be a way for it to show both even my Ti4600 and Ti500 show both

Maybe since your video card is pretty much all for show...it lacks the ability?

Okay, I'll tell you what I want to do, and my setup and such.. right now, I have my ti4200 with two monitors hooked to it. Monitor A is the monitor with my desktop on it, and monitor B is used to movies and such. When I use TV out, it changes the resolution of monitor A to match that of the TV. This resolution is significantly lower than that which I usually run monitor A at. (I run monitor A at 1280x1024) What I WANT to do is make the TV display anything that monitor B has on it. (monitor B runs at 1024x768) Since the TV runs at 1024x768, I though I could some way have the TV display what's on monitor B, but with default TV out settings and such (and I can't find any other settings to change this) it always wants to display TV out for monitor A. I want it for monitor B....it's hrad to explain, I hope you got that...

The s-video out is only 800x600, I believe. Or at least on my gainward ti4200. And just set up the nview settings correctly, can't be thta hard...

A TV(except for HDTV) is terrible compared to any modern computer monitor(TVs can only do 30FPS @ less than 640x480(to compare, a whimpy GF4MX 420 gets 68FPS @ 1024x768)).
I can't really stand an analog TV anymore, so I have digital TV on my PC.

seeing as its a geforce under the nview properties there is a tv out option. it works for me.
and with modding RGB out (db-15) to output composite isnt possible. (unless you built the video card and gave it the ability to with an adapter like matrox) but you can buy a tv out card or adapter box.

star882, you are right, well, mostly, a TV does aproximetly 29fps and 500x480 res. craptastic, nview allows you to boostit to 1024x768 but that is blurry as heel and i could/t even read the hud in most fps's, when i moved to the basement this summer (the heat) i thought, oh, i'll game away on our huge TV, well, i'm sittin at the desk here, and have been all summer, the TV was just such crap (still use it for movies) so i gues that will work, but i'd sugest moving away form using the TV
