| ok here is the problem, My bro has a new Intel 945 board *not sure of model* but thats not important... what is important is the designers of the mobo put the 24pin ATX connector RIGHT against the two IDE connectors... This.. under normal situations would not be bad.... but...... He has a Ultra X-Connect PSU and the extra bunch of plastic on the connectors for the ATX is just big enough to make it impossible to plug it in when the IDE's are in vise versa. So what I need to know is if those ends come apart fairly easy and if to could you inlighten me on how this is so we can take his apart and just move it up around a quarter inch but leave it on for the nice looking end.... I dont wanna jack with his cable concidering he just bought it for the 20-24 pin conversion....... Thanks guys and gals | ||

| Post a pic of the mobo with the P.S plugged in .you could probably use flat Ide cables with thin connectors,or cut the tabs off . otherwise you might have to use an IDE to serial ata converter on your drives. Provided your mobo has SATA http://www.directron.com/adp170598.html http://www.directron.com/adp170567.htm | ||

| Trust me I had already thought about that. And I have cut the cable off and it was a flat ribbon... The board has SATA but he already has his DVD Burner which is IDE... All I need to know is how to seperate the surround on the end of the Ultra cable from the actual connector so it can be moved up the cable around a quarter inch.... That would give us enough play room to plug the IDE's and the ATX in.... Thats all we need lol | ||

| Actually pics would honestly not help as I would have spotted it otherwise if a pic could show you I was looking for someone who may have already done this at some point or even someone from Ultra lol although I doubt that happening, I will try to get some pics tomorrow but right now its to late and I am to tired... ![]() | ||

ahem.... lol..... I never said I didnt think they existed. I simply asked if anyone here had experiance with it. Dont get your wires crossed ....I am more or less going to have to sacrifice the 20-20 cable and see how its attached inside... as we simply want to slide the boot up 1/4" to make room. Thanks for the link...

for real, as he said, dont get your wires crossed.... you may fry whatever you are pushing with the crossed wires (in this example, possibly your brain)
