Overclocked shoes!!

Well, just kidding!

As a sponsored skater, I get a bunch of free stuff from time to time - the bad part is that usually I get the dregs of what the suppliers have - case and point with these ADIO CKY's - I was bored and didn't really like the red on the side (sure, red makes it go faster, but it just wasn't the go....)

So, what does a modder with shoes the wrong colour, a little too much beer and vinyl dye do?? get drunk, mask and paint!!!

Oh, still waiting to install the stupermicronanomini ITX board, 6 x CCFL's and radiator/pump/res to arrive, but I thought i'd start with modding my shoes appearance in anticipation

Bahaha! Not bad, not bad at all.

I'm no skater, but I love Adio shoes. I'm wearing the Bam shoes with the purple Heartagram right now (I'm a huge HIM/CKY fan).

You should put a peltier under the insole to keep your feet cool.

Reminds me of that HIM photoshop project we never did. Wish I was a sponsered skater, I just dont have the time to put together a sponser me tape nor the energy to skate every day. At first I thought you painted the shoe with spray paint and then I thought that bottle was shoe goo...

It was spray paint!

Plasticolor vinyl dye dude! Didn't know if it'd bond to leather, but it did (even stood up to a night on the town - spilled vodkas and all!) - and skip the shoo goo - there's this stuff called freesole that's way better (it doesn't shrink and go hard when it dries) I dunno if you can get it where you are (i'm in New Zealand and miss out on a lot of other stuff though)

Seriously - dont even worry about sponsorship - it ain't all that anyway (apart from the free stuff) all it does is put you under pressure. I can afford to pay for my gear now anyway (having a decent job helps SO much!)

Nice idea! with the dual 120mm fan rads mounted in the (soon to be super-dope) tongues, I reckon that'd do nicely

Well, this is my first pair of Adio. The thing I noticed is that as you're breaking them in, they seem to trap way too much heat. My feet felt like they were in a volcano for the first two weeks or so that I had them. I guess it's because of the extra padding and such, you know?

PS - You should use the edit function and try not to double post. A lot of members, including myself, frown on double posting. Unless it's to bump a thread for inactivity, of course. Just a heads-up.

i've modded a couple of shoes before. 1st was a pair of 3 tone airwalks (gray, biege and blue). ihand painted flames on the front and painted the sole turquoise with spray paint. the second pair was black and tan airwalks. on those i colored the tan parts red with a sharpie, put safety pins in the sides, covered the soles in electrical tape, and painted another set of flames on the front (this time i actually masked). i wish i had pics of them......

nice! I had a pair of those for chilling shoes (i'd have killed them skating!) Yeah, they do get hot not the most breathable ones out there - maybe you shoulda popped in a pelt and rad kit too

PS: thanks for the heads up on the double post thing - am only really accustomed to reading forums and am a total noob to actually interacting

BTW, I've only skated for maybe 20 hours total. I gave up after falling down a couple times.

I tried skating one time. I successfully landed a drop-in off a curb, but fell down after about rolling for three feet.

Me and skating doesn't work because gravity works against me, being fat and all. Plus, I have about as much balance physically as Charlie Manson does mentally.
