Default Custom fan grill HELP!

I cut the fan drill from the back of my case in order to improve the air flow. (And it DID improve). but I wanted to get a fan grill however I decidet to cut one myself I started like2 week ago cutting a square pice from a discarded side panel :

I try to remove the paint from the panel usind the sand disk of my dremel:

Today I decidet to continue my work So I cut the outer circle of the grill

Here is the finnished Outer circle.. once i get my holliday, I will finish the inner part of the grill.. with a vampiric ahnk...

I did some more work today but got stuck, here is Pic of how far I got..

I did a bit with my reinforced cutting disk. ( I have used 4 already) I tried using the smaller ones but on some places is rather difficult...

as you can see the upper part of the desing is rather complicated, so any advice on how to continue?

thanks...

Cheers

I am surprised nobody has helped this guy out yet. Here is what little advice I can give you. On that little section on the top, remove as much material as possible but stay about 1/16 - 1/8" away from your lines. Just use straight cuts, which will put less stress on your disks, and remove as much material as possible. Then what I would do is come back and try to get a little closer to the lines, then finish it up to the line with files.

Having all that material out of the way, even though it may not be very close to the lines in some places, will make it much easier to finish the rest off.

I like the design for the fan grills, nice choice... I think you'll get good results using the cut then file method...

Another idea, something I tried to use but my lack of patience won out... I found some rearview/side mirror replacement material, it's not really metal, but is pretty sturdy (IMO, great for making fan grills from). One side is metallic/mirrored-looking, the other is adhesive backed so that you can stick it on over the damaged mirror(s)

Last thing... You don't have to post all your pictures at one time (unless you want to), one or two pics per post would have gotten you some help and suggestions a week or two earlier than you did...

Looks good, but you definitely need to clean up those edges!

Silver definately. Or you could paint it black and go over the edges with a silver sharpie. That might look kinda sweet.

I can understand the rough edges, it kind of sets it apart from other fan grills, IMO...

As for the color... Black and silver would work fine, but how about a deep blood red, since it's a vampiric ankh?

To bad you did not have any Plexi-Glass...
It would be cool to do that design in PlexI-glass....
Or...
There might be a better way to make your grill....
Take one of these Grills and cut out the center part of the grill. Make a new the vampire ankh design out of a new piece of metal (Make sure the new design is as tall as the inner part of the Grill). Get some handy JG Weld from your local auto motive store. Place your grill upside down and put the new design also upside down in the center of the Grill. Apply the JB Weld to the Seams between the new design and the Grill.
Let Dry....
Get some sandpaper and sand the JB weld down to Level with the Grill Surface.
Paint it or Buff that baby up.....Its your choice....
Bam one sweeet grill

(sorry i don't write very well!!)
btw....I am still looking for a good picture for your Avatar Design (Hard to find)

EDIT: Wow this is the most i have ever wrote in any Thread!!!

Something I found on the White Wolf website... Basically, the design you're making the grills from... Wouldn't be bad for an avatar, I don't think... Or you could use a clan logo...
