Well i got my xbox yesterday and ive been waiting to get my supplys to softmod it, but since that will take a week i thought id start looking into other mods, since i know there are games you can use keyboards and so forth and i know ill instal linux on it i thought id make a xbox to usb adaptor k well here goes


well i got a xbox controller wire ( from a freinds broken controller) and a mobo female usb thingy


I then took off only one usb wire and stripped it and then stripped the xbox controller wire



i then continued on to connect the wires, match the wires. red to red, black to black etc. The yellow wire on the xbox controller is not needed i dont know what its for but its not need at al for this mod so just let it be, i then electric taped the 4 wires and voila!



I can now connect keyboards and mice and any otehr usb thingys. and if u dont have the intentions of modding your xbox you can still use this to use an mp3 player or usb drive as a memory card (Y)

Rofl ! im using my ipod shuffle as a memory card loll (Y)

Nice Job. Its even sweeter when they're lighted.

You may wanna look around for one of these, the little thing on the right.

Its just a usb port on a small PCB with bare contacts that just slides into the port on the exbox. Very ingenius, but idk where you could find them, mine came with my xenium...

Yea i know you can buy them, but then agian this ways free and id rather make things then buy them so i can say! eh i made that! lol anywho thx

Ditto, always better to make than buy. Cables are easy too. Mines a nice little plug tho.

ya i was going to do it your way to, but i wanted my keyboard and mouse to reach to my bed thats why i used hte whole wire (Y) its workin good thou
