| My wife and I got a jvc camcorder for christmas two years, three months before our daughter was born. Roughly 13 months later it died, how convenient. I ripped the thing apart to get the lcd out, does anyone know if this is useable? how would I go about setting this up in my comp? The screen is 1 1/2" x 2". thx | ||

| i'm going to say maybe. under the ribbon cable on the PCB it looks like it has some info silkscreened. does it corespond with that connector with things like V+ G S or somhting like that? then again it does have a ribbon cable so there might be more support parts in the main camcorder part. what was wrong with the camcorder? if it would not power on you could probably bypass all the fancy power management stuff and make part of it work. you could probably also get the CCD out since those actually are in block form (at least for sony) and you could use it standalone. the LCD might be useable since it is from a video device and probably just takes composite or seperate color and chroma. like wordbiker says look for a spec sheet based on markings on the PCB or frame | ||

| under the ribbon cable are letters and numbers. YB10325 -01-03 BL PWB ASS'Y Printed on the back of the lcd itself is CCL992532607D1 On the front of the lcd under the plastic it says made it taiwan on the bottom and au at the top. also another ?code? on the lcd on the back edge of the lcd frame is 24225VD01F-00-0301004 I have all the rest of the pieces from the camera, most of it is intact. I had to destroy the assembly that holds the tapes in, the tape with my daughter's birth was in it. We had taken it to a repair shop, they told us the main board was toast, and it would cost just as much to fix, as it would to buy a new one. | ||

| I'd have to echo the "maybe." Then I'd add "it's doubtful." You'd definitely want to check into the input and power specs. The one I used on HardCase took a standard RCA jack and 12v. I'm not sure what type of video feed a camera actually pushes to the LCD. Sorry I'm not of more help. | ||
