Laptop LCD inputs

I am working on a mod that is going to require a laptop LCD screen to accept either an S-vid or RCA type input. I know I am going to have to get some kind of controller in order to make it accept the signal, but does anyone know where I can find such a beast?

Its been asked about here weekly. you need an expensive ass controller ot make an old laptop LCD usable outside the original productm anbd the exatc one is a panin in the ass to find
. its all propriotary BS, you're better off getting an incar screen (for those pimpin drd setups) that takes rca or s-video. You'll spend as much on a comtroller for the old screen as you would a new screen that takes standard ins stock. but dont ask me, im drunk off my ass...

You are better off using a lcd monitor and strip it down It wil be more expensive but it will work.

Stop being so cheap controlers are expensive.

Here is a few questions. Can we have some details on what you are doing so we can help you out.

1)What are you going to use it for?
2)Why do you need an S-vid or RCA type input?
3)What is your budget?
4)Your local fleamarket should have some lcd that you can use from $100 -$200
5)Will it be used in a car mod?
6)Will it be used in a case mod?

i'm trying to do the same thing. The controller required for this setup is about 175 on ebay. a new screen is about 200. I',m saving my dough for the new screen.

Have you checked out Earth LCD?? I got a 12.1" LCD with controller and cable for 299.00, TFT screen, 12V DC input, very thin, and easy to mount in a custom setup.

Look around, you can probably get a 15" for around 400.00, otherwise you could buy a 17", and hack it apart for the same money.
