Default Removing Stickers

Ok guys I just recently bought a nice Sony Vaio laptop. Thats nice and all but the stickers it has on it arent cool. I was wondering what the best way to remove them would be. Using a knife is out of the picture, I dont want to scratch my new baby and using my nail to remove them is an option but i would rather not because it leaves some of the adhesive and I would like to have nothing left over. Here are some picutres of the stickers in question (took them with my cell phone so bare with me).

Use your nail to get most of it (the paper part) then use Turpentine (paintthinner) on a rag, wipe it down let it sit a about a minute and it should come right off with a bit of rubbing... no marks, not resedue...

good luck!

Would a hairdryer get the laptop too hot though?

Get a corner up with a nail and then carefully peel, if it starts to rip start on another corner. Then take any residue off with lighter fluid, works better than paint thinner most of the time.

You could run down to your local hardware store and buy some goofoff. The stuff works great for removing stickers!

At any parts store they will have a couple different products that will do the job. I remember decal remover and adheisver remover on the shelf at OReillys..........Goof Off is good stuff too, used it to get tar off my wife one year after patching the roof in the old place we used to live. Watch were you get it though, if it gets on, err sensitive parts......it can burn alot.

WD40 works good on the residue and shouldn't damage the plastic. Just spray a little on a rag and rub.

I'm with Hojo on this one.
WD40 works well on stickers, and might be the safer choice in this situation.

do what Noslak said heat works great and no a hair dryer is not going to melt anything......think about it if a cpu, card and all the guts of a puter gets as hot as it does the case would be damaged with the heat those suckers give off. In addition heat melts the glue ,wich comes off (most of it ) with the sticker ,you will have to use just a little bit of googone. Trust me on this i worked at a auction i have removed more stickers than you guys wouldn't believe.

Well guys, I took some of the advice and well it worked. I took a blow dryer to the laptop (with it turned off) and turned it up on high. I moved it back and forth over the sticker and started to peel it off. Came off with out any problems and left nothing behind. Thanks guys

That's how we used to get product keys stickers off cases to resell back where I used to work. Fun times.
