So last night me and some of the guys from my floor went over to wally world becasue my friend needed a hunting liscense for this weekend and i was gonna get some longer speaker cables so i could put my woofer under the unused desk as a baffel and really make my room bump. Walmart didn't have extentions, and i was kinda pissed, but we decided to buy something stupid to have some fun. We were looking for nerf guns, but they didn't have any!?! There were a buncha real guns in the sporting goods dept right next to the toys, but no nerf guns in the toy section....

So we all got cheapass $20 Nikko The Fast and the Furious RC cars. I got a yellow NSX, the guy down the hall got a green lancer and the guy across the hall from me got an orange NSX. Kinda pissed because both the NSXs are the same frequency and i dont know how to change the recieved frequency of the car. The controler is easy enough, swap the 27MHz crystal for a 35MHz or something, but does anyone know how to change the car's?

Anywho, on to the modding. Have a buncha spare LEDs with me so i thought what the hell, i'll rice out my RC car even more, and its already got streetglow stickers on it anyway. it runs on 6AAs, so i wired 3 green 3mm LEDs in series to the power switch and the ground and got em positioned right. Here are some pics. And a shot of the sweet setup in my dorm room.

you should get some glass tubing to run along the sides on the bottom that way you can insert the leds into the glass and have alot more bling for your buck, plus your LEDs would get some stability and not run so much of a chance of being run over.

They're pretty secure where they are, but thats a good idea for diffusing the light better. This was really just a 5 minute what the hell project, but i really like the way it turned out. They blink too, when the drive motor runs, the current draw causes them to dim a lot, kinda cool.

I used to collect Bit Char-G's i had a load of them, there made by TOMY and you can change the motor and tyres and Shells and stuff and there tiny and they have got quite a bit of speed tucked under there shells, I will post some picks of mine later

JE, that's not his actual car! It's just a little RC car! It needs a good picnic bench for a wing!

I'd just like to add that my dorm room now has a hammock. Yes a hammock. One last piece to add, and i will have the ultimate dorm room. Linky.
