Default Gold Mine! Pics added 9/25 check 'em out!

Ok I have some red ccfls that I want to put into my case. Unfortunately the ccfl's dont match my led fans, but someone here at pr suggested using red celophane from michaels. Well I got the celophane and want to test how many layers to put on yadda yadda. So I need another power supply to test the lighting with away from my case and all expensive components. I have this old computer in my garage that was given to me, that I ocasionally gleen parts from. Thats where my windowed hdd came from. Well I was gonna use the 250w power supply from that case and I found in the modding list how to mod a power supply so it doesn't need a mobo to boot up. Well I start peeling this thing out of the case, first thing I notice is that there is no on/off switch on the back. I was kinda bummed cuz I don't have a switch lying around to turn this thing on and off. Well I got it out and discovered that the on/off switch is actually wired into the power supply!

Interesting, yet I don't quite understand how the PSU being equipped with on/off switch wiring could be a gold mine. You stated that you don't have any switches, so how are you going to use those wirings to connect to a switch? But that's just me, and I'm the modder not the hardware nor electrical person so someone clarify for me.

That's an AT PSU you have with the switch wired directly to the PSU.

I just wanted to have a seperate power supply to test my ccfl's with. The gold mine is that The power switch for the pc is actually incorporated into the psu. In order for a psu to run without a mobo, you have to mod an on/off switch into it, because this already has it, I dont have to mess with trying to wire a switch into it.

Check it out

Heh heh got bored, so I figured I would open it up to see what the guts of a power supply look like and this is what I find!
