| Only want a little info.... Getting a new system soon and been lookin at the MTV show "pimp my ride", hence looking @ sites like this. Wondering if anyone knows of a gadget that can turn a pc on (or off) that is the size of a key chain. I have been doibng some research though and have found a remote control, but thats not what I want. Anything else that people would also love to have on their systems please post and maybe someone else can help!! Happy Pimpin all! ![]() | ||

| Welcome to PR, Remote starter for your PC... Neat idea. I remember seeing a "credit card sized" pc remote that might work for what you wanna do. If your bios supports wake on USB anything like that would work. I dunno about a keyfob thing though, i'll look around more. | ||

| I have one, got it at AutoZone for $25. It has 4 channels. I use mine for power, lights, fans and more lights. You have to use a 9V battery connected to the power so it will have power when the PC is off so it will function to turn it on. I use a rechargeable 9V that charges when the PC is on so I never have to replace it. Edit: Here a link to it http://www.pilotautomotive.com/pilot2ap1o.htm BTW the little control box is pretty small, it looks big in the pic. I have mine hidden in the space between the rear side panel and the drive bays, if that tells ya how small it is. Last edited by Lunamods; 16-August-04 at 08:27 PM.. | ||

| WOW, great responses. Many thanks for the intro's and the help... This will be a perfect start point for me to go away and start '007in' the pc... If anyone has ANY more suggestions on what would be Bond-like, feel free to let me know and i will probably consider adding them. Only no-no's are that bird that constantly drinks and martini makers (can't stand the bloody stuff). once again though, MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO POSTED AND FOR ALL / ANY ASSISTANCE. | ||

Hell, nothing would be more "Bond" than your spare drive bay flipping up to reveal a row of small rockets, Also, maybe a hydraulic or pneumatic auto opening side panel. I think however, having your case lay down an oil slick or road tacks might be a bit much though... ![]()

I was thinking along the same lines. Especially the hydrolic door.... I want to put mine on a rolling track with a small motor to open it (with a manual release, of course, just incase).

| Looks like jinx© and Luna got you covered. I was gonna suggest this tutorial I came across at xbox-scene; I picked up that same exact doorbell kit for around $10 at Home Depot. And it'd be even easier (and more practical?) on a PC than on an XBox. http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/rf-power.php | ||
