Default PSU rewiring question

Here's my Q, don't ask me why, you'll all see in time.

For the mass of wires at the back of a PSU (power cable, switches) there are basically two wires that I have to extend, about 4 inches. Is that safe to do, and should i switch to a larger gauge wire to overcome signal loss?

i did some rewiring like that in a psu once wen i accident broke the wire, and i just used same gauge, i think you would be fine, a heavier gauge might actualy hurt you, but im not sure. but i know if you go same gauge youl be fine.

Black and white.

The 115/230 switch can stay as is, the green wire is fine, and the tan wire that connects the rocker switch and the socket are all fine. Just need to lengthen those two.

I think its safe to say that the wires used already are rated higher that the amperage your powersupply will be drawing so using the same wire would be OK.

Be carefully Kayin! Don't mess with hot circuits (duh) and make sure you are making safe, insulated splices. If your PSU was under load and you were to touch that white(hot) wire, well you'll be goin up to a spirit in the sky!

Aim me if you have any questions, I'd like it if you define what it is you are trying to accomplish so I can better tell you how to solve it safely.

Yes, you can extend those with no probs as long as you dont use a smaller gauge wire.
