Here are a few pics of my unfinished Xbox. Its still getting some custom graphics or something when I have time.

Its a deep metallic purple, automotive paint of course. One pic shows the glossiness of the finish with the reflection of the TV. The others show the color better and the UV LED's better. The LED's under the jewel make an "X" Sorry the pics are grainy,crappy camera that doesnt work properly.

I added LED's in the controller ports that are kind of hard to see in the pics.When ther are no controllers in the ports they shine a nice purple glow on the floor.

EDIT: OH and some of the other mods include: Replaced original fan with 80mm NMB, 160Gb 7200rpm HDD, Shaved all the Logos other than the logo on the jewel,cleared jewel(obviously), changed power LED to UV, changed GPU fan etc. Much more to come.

Looks pretty sweet. I'm keeping the stock color scheme for mine, black and green. Clear jewel, dvd window, window on the oposite arm of the X, green LED fan and 2 4" green cathodes. Plus some other dremeling that will remain secret at the moment... And every mod that can be done to a controller. But yeah, a good paint job is always nice, especially with matching lights. To bad you cant do matching controlers though.

myn's mobo is laying on my desk..... workign on buildign it into my comp case.... damn them and the powercabel they used for that dvd player!!!!

The controllers will be done. They were just in someones hands when I done the rest of it as it was still playable when it was apart. I have 2 of the clear blue MadCatz controllers and an external HDD enclosure that will be painted to match. The skins for all my dashes match also. I thought about windows in various places but I opted out as none of them will fit the theme Im shooting for.

I have another box that im putting in another enclosure. The best way to do the power cable for the DVD is to get the male/female connectors from www.digikey.com and make an extension. It looks much nicer this way, you can sleve it also either way to pretty it up. It is also getting a 1.4 Celery Taulatin installed and an additional 64Mb of RAM. The kind fellows at Friendtech are hooking me up with the adapter they use and the technical knowledge. It may even end up water cooled.

Actually it is a PC, it just uses slightly different CPU instructions so it prevents running Windows other than CE.

I remeber asking for pics. It turned out pretty cool, I like. What type of paint did you use? Cuz I think your a painter like me but not sure?

Its automotive base/clear, PPG. Yes I am a painter.

Cool so am I. We also use the PPG system, good stuff I must say. Before that we were using Spies Hecker bases' and U-POL clear. I still use U-POL primer cause I like the way it builds.

I usually use Dimension bases, much cheaper and I like how they lay down.There arent much difference in bases anyway unless you need a precise color match, but ive had luck with Dimension.I also use Dimension single stage urethanes. I use a lot of PPG clears though. Actually I use a lot of different brands of clears, PPG gets expensive.I found a new brand sold as Ultra that im falling in love with, reasonable prices and it lays down sweet, cuts and buffs nicely.

I've heard about Ultra but have'nt tried it yet. But if it cuts and buffs nice that saves some time I'll have to try it.
