Sony Ericsson cell phone modding

just thought id put this here for anyone who wants to mod their SE phone

mods done on my phone: Cingular branding removed, Cingular protected files removed, enabled flash menus, Kriomag v21.9 camera driver, Qwerty V Final acoustic pack. Also i am working on a infrared mod for the camera, as of now i can take infrared photos but they come out a bit dark, the cam driver may need some messing with.

now why do all this? well if you debrand your phone it can work on any carrier, so its worth more. Also this makes the phone run better, and it gets rid of all the junk your carrier put on your phone (trial games, menu shortcuts to places to buy games) an it makes it so you can use mp3s as ringtones. the cam drivers make the camera have manual focus and make the camera much better, faster and silent. the acoustic packs make the sound from your phone louder, have more bass and generally better sounding.

i searched it on google, just found a few things about unlocking it and hacking it to be a broadband modem and a few other thigns, you might be able to find some stuff

for some reason theres a crapload of stuff for sony ericssons, ive found probably over 5 forums dedicated to modding SEs

Well this little guide inspired me to hack my Nokia N73 to turn it from a bog standard N73, into the N73 Music Edition which is much better!

No more slow loading and the new music player is much better than the bog standard one

yeah a lot of the time you can upgrade your phone to the next model with just firmware if you just google it
