| Apex Techie Lite | Hey i have a really bright blue led fan in the front of my case and i was wondering if anyone knew of any guides or how to put a switch on the leds so that you can turn them off without turning the fan off thanks in advance for any help | |

| Well..your probably not going to find a guide to add a switch, but what you can do is look at one for adding LED's MADSHRIMPS - Hardware Reviews ,Crazy Projects, Modding Tutorials and Overclocking LED wiring guide LEDs for Beginners - The World's Biggest Show & Tell - tech, diy LED guide Pro AV Magazine Basicaly, the problem your gonna have with adding a switch, is that all the wiring is intertwined to the fan motor. So you have a few choices, rewire the whole thing (Kinda silly) or clip the wires to the LED just before they connect up with the fan motor, and add some wires that will go to your switch. Soldering some fairly long wires will allow you to remotely mount the switch, you have the option to tie it back in to the same power connector, or add a seperate 12v molex. I have never tackled this myself, I hope this helps, maybe someone else will chime in with more help ![]() | ||
