yea it's possible... just make sure when you take off the original top that no dust or anything gets in there. and i'm not sure on how thick it should be. maybe 1/8 inch. and make sure whn you put the cover back on that it's on tight, but not so tight that it'll crack.

Hard Drive Window

I searched google for the thickness of the plexiglas, no luck, maybe someone in PCAPEX has the experience on that.

Good luck

Digital World did one back in the old days, it may not be here anymore though, some of the realy old archives got deleted by accident when updating the site by GK (Tweeking the looks and functionality)

Of course there are many guides out there on the net, but I would not use a "Good" HD to do it, unless you are in a near clean room environment, most end up dying after a while...doesn't take much dust to kill one.

If you have the coin (185$)You can get a WD 150GB Raptor with one allready installed

Newegg.com - Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM

I used a old cd case cover. Unless it's a drive under 10gb or just for looks it isn't worth the risk, u would need a clean room. Something as small as a skin cell can ruin ur drive.

i saw a video i think it was that explained how to make a clean box and it had big gloves in a plastic clear box and a widow on top to see in. might be a good idea.

I'm thinking of making a smaller version of something like these;

TOOLS, Sand Blast cabinet on the cheap! - THE H.A.M.B.

Sandblasting cabinet homemade

I'm thinking of making a small one out of a regular bucket, and i especially like the vacuum cleaner attachment.

Thought i'd share the links and idea.
