I'm looking at testing some gear and doing some cable stuff and I wanted to create a power switch box for a Molex extension cable. I as have a computer backy power pass through thing I also wanted to create a switch for.
I'd use a double-pole switch and hook up the red and yellow wires to it (separate poles of course).
The question is would this hurt anything. I've seen some stuff mentioning burning out your
psu from pulling too much power suddenly. I also intend to use it on my water pump for filling the line and cleaning it. Add water turn on...turn off, add water turn on...turn off. I saw it in a video on danger den or mnpctech canÂ’t remember which.
I figured it would be fine because there are people using switches on leds, fans, tons of stuff, but I'm not sure.
I know the switch has to at least handle 1/2 amp 12v, IÂ’m thinking, I was going to use a military switch that I bought off of xoxide.com.
Thanks,
