Yes and no.

Yes, the fan will work just fine like that. Not a problem.

For the No part, there is more. If the original PSU fan had the RPM sensor then there may be some circuitry in the PSU that monitors that lead to make sure the fan is functioning. If so, you may have a problem.

If the original fan did not have it, and the replacement fan does, then there is no problem. Chop it off.

Yeah. Like Dick said, if the original PSU fan had an RPM sensor, then not hooking this in will cause the PSU to think It's malfunctioning.

However from the information I've read it appears that the the original fan only had a two wire power connection, so in your case this will not cause any problems.

That can probably be resolved by going into BIOS in the section for "Hardware Monitoring" or "PC Health" or wherever the section is that shows you temps and fan speeds, then setting the CPU fan monitor to "Disabled" (sometimes you have to change it to "Manual" before you can edit this setting, though). Not saying that's a great idea, though.

The micro-ATX case that I built my μ-Blaze from is only about a foot and a half tall. So who can explain why the cables that went from the front bezel to the motherboard were almost 4 feet long? Haha!

Powmax likes to give you your money's worth in wire instead of factory supplied PSU strength?

No doubt. The POS it comes with fried within a week of getting her up and running. Luckily, those 2 A-Power (I think?) PSUs I bought for 2 of those cases are still going strong! They have good ventilation, so maybe that's playing a part...
