Unhappy Case fan connector mod?

I apologise if this has been asked elsewhere, but a forum search revealed nothing.

I recently bought an Ultra Grid PC case with 700W PSU, and it came with two 12cm (front and rear) case fans. These case fans each have 3-pin connectors, and my mobo has provision to plug in only one case fan. Googling the subject seemed to indicate that the rear fan (exhaust) should be plugged into the mobo, and the front fan (intake) should be connected to the PSU.

Any advice on how to connect the 2nd fan to the PSU would be appreciated. I assume I need to cut off the 3-pin connector and replace it with a standard molex PSU connector? If so, details on the wiring would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

You don't have to cut the end off, you can buy one of these and that should do it.

Thanks, coweater58... I got one of those adapters and all is well.

As a matter of interest, is it possible to "parallel connect" both fans to the single mobo fan header, or is that a no-no?

you could do that, you would need to find out what the max out put of the header is and not exceed that, but not so sure on that though. You can buy this and run it off the adapter if you need more fans.

I killed a mobo fan header once by trying to run too many things from it (I believe 2 80mm fans and some lighting). Now, I only use them for a single fan each, or maybe a fan and some basic LED lighting; but anything that would need more power, I'd connect/adapt/splice to an existing Molex connector.
