Default Okay, freaking mod this mouse...

I've got a new G5 mouse, with the tracking control ring and all, and I want to open it up, paint the white part, and stuff in blue LEDs. Anyone got any idea as to how the hell to get in this thing?

Look for screws. Usually located under the teflon feet.

I have to watch him close, He's taken over Sara's computer and will not allow me into mine. He started reformatting my extra harddrives and decided to take them with him! He found out I had a Multimedia Card, so he removed it from my computer, took the driver disc and hide it from me.

(disclosure....do not take this seriously....Kayin would never steal or take anything...I gave him some stuff)

I would make him leave you his hat. It would do wonders for his social life.

Ther are no teflon feet. It's a ring around the edge of the mouse.

here's a link to the mouse...

I think you have to throw it against a wall or something. That works with most apple products. Its in the manual I think.

Wow, i was gonna say the same thing. I remember playing with one of those, does the top part come off?(Which in itself is the button, so it moves independantly from the base/hardware, for those of you that dont know) If it doesnt, can you make it?

Trying to figure out why you'd wanna use this mouse anyway. It has 1 button. Thats it. i think i'd kill myself if i had to use one. Hell it doesnt even have a srollwheel.

Have you looked at these mice? same designbut much more function!

$50 and not even a right click? even if it is more accurate id rather keep my 8 buttons and scroll wheel. apples form before any kind of function.

The MX700 is the best input device I've ever come across in many, many years of computing. The accuracy, response, and flexibility cannot be beat by anyone, including Apple.

However, I will not dog you for wanting to use that mouse. That is rather unusual which I appreciate. There has to be a seam somewhere on that mouse, grab a jeweler's screwdriver and pry at it a bit. You will find out where the screws are that way.

yes the MX700 is on top right now. the best $70 ive ever spent anyone who tells you you wasted money on some extravagant hardware or software just dosnt use a computer. when ever i use a different kind of mouse it feels awkward now since im used to the programmable buttons.
if you like it use it.

Being optical (and an Apple product) I suppose it could be sealed.

the apple pro mouse it the best looking, and most comfortable mouse.
period.

it is glued, but it can be disassebled, (sidenote: www.applefritter.com great site. what got me into modding)
what you do is pry off the outer ring, and the mouse kind comes apart from there (the ring is glued, but you'll get it back together in one peice i'm sure)

ih and the crystal mouse is the most ugly POS that i ever did see, it tries to look like a apple pro, but just ends up being fugly
