| Well first off, with all the steel you would need, those scooter motors wouldnt push it... they would probably just burn up. I do a lot of work with lawnmowers and electric is not really the way to go, atleast with small motors.. Whats the output on these motors by the way? The average golf cart electric motor is around the 2.5-4 horsepower range | ||

| You would be better off buying a used one and fixing it up. Or building a go cart. U will need better motors (electrical motors are rated in continuous hp as mechanical rated at there max.), a controller both for the motors and for controlling the battery input. Also you would have to make or buy a golf cart type transmission or something similar that will bring the rpms way down to a usable condition. Here is a site w/ parts. Shopping Catalog (I'm starting a internship converting vehicles to electric if u was wondering. ) | ||

| Go get a used lawnmower with a decent running motor. Take off the blade deck, get a smaller pulley on the transaxle along with a shorter belt to accomodate the pulley, and you will have something cheap as hell that will smoke a homemade golfcart. I had a craftsman w/15.5 Kohler and a 5speed Peerless transaxle. We pulled the transaxle out, had the spider gears welded, and left the pulley stock for low gear rockcrawling and mudbogging. It's redneck as hell but fun. It was capable of going across some crazy terrain, we almost seriously got hurt a few times. ![]() Look at this guys myspace page videos. Keep in mind his mowers kind of suck. He goes through a few good holes though. I do want a John Deer gator, or a custom golfcart though for the ability to have 2 people.
