Yes, the Logisys UV lights I've had were by far the brightest. The only problem I have had with them are a couple were slightly DOA, but they are cheap. Another thing to look at are UV Lazer LED's, they work great when you want to highlight certain areas or parts.

I bought a couple of Lazer Led canons, but they hardly even light up my cables from my psu ( ultra xconnect with blue UV reactive cables)

I have been using the Logisys one for a while. Only problem is the inverters are cheap. Bulbs have lasted a couple years but I have went through 5 inverters. Which reminds me, does anyone know where to buy just the inverters??

I haven't had as much luck with AC Ryan cathodes. There's good and bad. The good: They're among the brightest UV lights I've seen. The bad: They're so bloody fragile. I've had 2 go wonky on me before even finishing the mod project they are being used in. They kinda work, but only if the power cable is positioned just so. The problem is that tiny, fine metal wire that runs through the tube; it seems the solder job under the heatshrink at the end of the tube is shoddy, and it doesn't take much to break that solder. And it's practically impossible to re-solder due to the fine-ness of the wire and the fact you have no slack whatsoever, if it breaks.

It seems the cathode varieties with the 2 separate wires leading into the tube hold out a lot better, but some don't show up as bright.

That's good to know about the AC Ryan cathodes. I was just about to buy a set for a mod.

I was satisfied with the cathodes I got from Bigfoot Computers here in Canada (I think based out of Toronto). They also sell them in 4", 6", and 12" sizes.

Website is here then check out their Lighting Mods.
