Talking UFO or something? NEED GLOWING POWER!!!

Hi all

As a young pimp, I need advice on pimping my case out

I wanted to create something glowing on the bottom of my case
I reduced it to 2 ideas..... which one do you think is easier and would look better? I have an Antec LANboy Case

1) A thick pad of acrylic lighted by a Superbright blue LED, or some sort of DIY glowing Clear Leg, the thing I don't like about this is that the LED shoots out a narrow beam of intence blue light, I want a diiffused kind of effect, like a neon or CC tube, but those burn out easily, any idea?, oh, bTW, I don't have any Diffusion paper.

2, add a large sheet of acylic on the bottom of the case (copied from someone, I forgot who tho) then make a circular/octanginal hole in the middle, add 4 or 8 LED's in, then light it up, the light should go to the outer edge of the acrylic, which would create a not as much glowing effect, but more of a side brightness effect.... which one do you think is better?

goto svc.com and order the replacement legs that light up...and also cut a hole in the bottom of you case for more lighting which will come from the inside lights.

If you happy with just the lighted legs, then you don't have to cut into the bottom of your case.

OR
you can get a piece of 1/4"plexi the size of the bottom of you case. Make a cutout in the center and dremmel out some holes in the inside edge. mount some 4000 mcd's LED from DragonModz.net into the edge and that would be 16000 mcd of light for every 4 LED's 4 x 3 vt LED's=12vt..
5 down each side and 2 out the front,
would be PimPn' and bright as you prolly care to have it...

I say use the second method but don't stop there.
If you frost the entire perimeter of the acrylic pad (say you are using 3/4" to 1" acrylic) this should help to diffuse the light more thereby giving you more of a glowing effect.
