backlighting a keyboard

Ok so for the longest time I have wanted to mod this mac... It does not have a backlit keyboard and I would like to give it one. With this picture from engadget you can see how small of an area I have to squeeze and led in there. Now here is my question... what led is small enough that would allow me to get some in there and not impair typing? Also an input on how the hell I could do this would be appreciated too.

How about something like these....the problem would be hooking them all up tho

That looks pretty sweet. Its really hard to judge how big those are. Wiring them would be a major pain in the ass and adding a switch... yeah this is going to be a tough mod and I need to get my hands on a spare keyboard first.

Hmm thats a good idea however the macbook's keys are not see thru. I will have to look into fiber though.

string an EL neon string through the keyboard? Something like the link below.

How about something like this it looks pretty cool.. check out this video here.. opps sorry wrong thing but wanted to see if this is what your looking for.

EDIT: i am going to say what ex421 said you could possibly wire some EL
neon lighting under neath the key board to give you the lighting effects you want.
