intellimouse hammered paintjob

Well I painted my intellimouse and I figured I might as well post some complete pics on there. The right click is a little stiff right now so I will have to take it apart and sand it down a little. Let me know what you think.

it looks like something a cave man would use, very unique. I have always loved the hammered texture, and the last time i used it i did something wrong but it made my case turn out looking awesome, so no big deal :-D

It kind of reminds me of some kind of sea creature (prehistoric even), those curves of the mouse along with the hammered effect are spectacular.

I did the same thing to my wireless intellimouse and keyboard set...the both turned out lookin sweet....to bad I gave them to my ex....don't think I have any pics of it tho

Half the parts on my IcELightning mod were painted with that stuff, silver or black.

Ill get some better pics up when I can. I also had to ghetto rig the mouse buttons to work again with petroleum jelly...

What type of paint did you use, looks pretty bad@ss. The second pic kinda resembles one of the covenant ships from HALO.

So does the paint just look hammered? or is the paint textured so it actually feels hammered?

My LanPAQed case has hammered steel sides, but im going to be changing it, the hammered rustoleom paint i was using gave the paint job a hammered feel. It looks best on tool boxes

I'm getting an oceanic vibe - anyone else feel it? Stingray? Mollusk? Cocina? Whale Shark?

Maybe it's cause I just came back from FLA.

Yeah it has a texture to it now. Its actually pretty nice in your hand. Jokes aside the 3 coats of clear coat helped lock it in.

I've seen that hammered finish paint at the local home reno store, it intrigued me as well. I believe Tremclad makes it, and they're affiliated with Rustoleum so you might look into that brand, too.

The hammered paint I used was actually made for plastic. It is from rustoleum. So far the paint is still holding up great.

This is how that hammered turns out when you hit it with some acetone based clear coat (did it completely on accident and it still turned out flippen awesome)

How soon after painting did you apply the clear coat? and do you have a close up pic?
