Of course, it will affect noise and the fan's ability to push air. It looks like about 1/3 of the fan blade that matters most--the curved edge--is removed from the inner part of the blades. It might be hard to tell without a flow tester, but I'd expect the fan to have a larger-diameter dead spot as a result of the fan mods. I also expect the holes in the blades would contribute somewhat to a whistling sound. On the other hand, visually it's really cool, and not every fan has to do optimal cooling or spin at high speeds. Running this fan in a system or a location that doesn't need great cooling, and rotating at a reduced speed to cut down any added noise from the fan blade modifications, would be perfectly pimpin'.
I sure as hell wouldn't use this on my
CPU, though!
