Hawklen Almost wrecked his Optical mouse

Well, while sodlering a blue LED into my cordless logitech mouse, forgot to get a pnecil tip, and kinda ripped a wire off the PCB for the positive lead. But, I managed to solder a small wire from the positive terminal to the right chip pin the terminal leads to.
Took me over an hour to get this fricking thing all working again. Well, heres a final pic..will take it apart to show my wiring skillz in a pic later..too tired to do it now..

I've ruined a mouse doing this too. My mother would say it's a good character building experience....what a crock, it just maddening as hell.

At least you could salvage yours. Mine ended up in the dust bin.

Sweet Zen. I usually can solder, but have a big fat tip, just sucks the solder away. Maybe tomorrow Ill post some inside pics of the mouse to show the scarred board and wire

Well...crappy camera doesnt do close ups well, best pics I could get of the innards. You can still see the red wire in there somewhere...

Nice recovery from your....mistake, ya foolish asshat!

I was thinking of swapping out the red LED in my MS optical to blue, but I'd have to find a way to open it first!

the screws are under the teflon pads.
