The project which I started to do about ten months ago now is completed. And I am looking forward to hearing your opinion about it. It is only my mouse mod 3.

1.My mouse mod was based on Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical, USB+PS/2
2 More than 90 per cent of plastic was cut out.


3 All the details ( including the wheel of scrolling and the buttons) were cast from the stainless steel 18/10 (which is used for medical instruments)Some decorations were cast and soldered.

Wow that looks fookin amazing! A good mouse to replicate too, i use one as a secondary still.

The wire is inside the steel casing.

I made a special case of glassy plastic for this mouse mod.
The mouse mod is in the case.

The shining of the mouse and the connector in the dark ( sorry for the quality of the photos because the camera has problems with focus in the dark)

How to make the case for the mouse mod.Everything is rather easy.
You need
The case is covered by plastic. It takes me ages to fit the plastic to the case. Then you cut out the handles and the legs.
After that you cut the microporus (soft) rubber according to the shape of the mouse mod.

Then you make the shape from the mouse pad ( they are soft and made of cloth)
Then you cover it with velvet.

After that you fix the new handle with stresses to the case.


Then you change the legs.

Now you have the result.

Good lord man.....that thing looks crazy. Not exactly my style, but i recognize effort and skill. Great job!

OH MY Gooooddd what...Whoa that's for real modding right there. It's all about the details and you got it! How much would one of those run if you were to sell one? Just wondered cuz I'm still attatched to my Trigun case so I wouldn't expect u to sell your mouse.

I'd love to see more of a worklog/tutorial on how you cast the parts

It reminds me a lot of an article I read that talked about this guy who owned a junkyard and built animal and insect sculptures from the scrap metal. He used a similarly tubular method of building them...Is that what you are going for? An insect like appearance?

Are those parts sticking out of the top finger protectors or something? Never seen anything like that on a mouse before!

He deserves a new title, "Mouse Mastah"! Those mice look painful to use, they look like jewelled torture devices from the medieval days, back when thumb-screws were all the rage...but they look really cool too! Not my thing but I guess not everyone has access to a metal casting shop, either...and the fact you made a carrying case for your mouse makes "over the top" an understatement...looks great though, and you got skillz dude.
