Default swapping hdd's?

ive got two computers both running winxp home, one has integrated everything(audio video lan) other has all pci/agp stuff. im wondering if i can just swap the harddrives and not worry about anything. the only thing i can think of that will go wrong is the drivers, but ive got them all. anything else bad about doing this?

No, more than likely no. Unless you have the same motherboard running in both systems, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY it is going to work.

If you clone the HD as a test (don't use your original)....boot into safe mode and let XP find the devices. I have done this a FEW times (under 10) and have had a 50/50 chance of it working.

And yes, it has been with totally different Motherboards and Devices. Just make sure you boot to safe mode first and don't use the an original drive.

AMD...I say...make a clone of your hard drive and you have a 50/50 chance of it working (that has been my expirence) if you first boot into safe mode and have windows detect the hardware.

AMD...If you don't have a spare or don't have a back up, your running the risk of having to reformat and lose everything you have.

It is a risk that you alone will have to decide if it is worth it or not. Think about it before you make up your mind.

Message me later if you want to discuss this more.
