Matched DDR or not

I have a question, i have 512mb2700 geil memory in my system. I want a 1024 but my question is can i get another stick of 512 geil or do i have to get a matched pair for it to run correctly on ddr. The memory is ddr itself but inly one stick. Or the other option is before i die I can spend all of my money on some new Corsair XMS PC4200 with gold heat spreaders.

JUST KIDDING. I am looking at just getting like a pc3200 corsair set. Oh on e more things is should i get buffered or non-buffered. Sorry about this as this is not my field, computer cooling is what im into so pardon my stupidity.

Please give us some more details. Like if/how far you plan on overclocking your system, OR are you satisfied with your current overclock.

you don't have to have matched sticks, but it's best to get two sticks with the same config (single/double sided).

i'm sure if you order an identical stick it will work just fine.

Ok well i have not gotten into overclocking my mem just yet although my processor is running almowwstt a gig overclocked, so i really am just looking for a good pair or a gig of mem that would be suitable. I have an Abit board and if one of you pimps would help me with overclocking i would be happy to try oveclocking it
