| Basically does anyone know how the ribon cable on an LCD attaches to the glass? or more importantly how to reattach it? I was fixing the power connector on my Archos JBMM20 and i accidentally ripped the ribon cable clean off the glass. ****! I know the lcd is good, and the cable is good, but they are now separated. It is a 1.5" color lcd i believe active matrix, and where the cable used to connect there is a small metal peice on the glass but there arent any contacts or anything like that. if i hold the lcd up to the light i can ssee traces of where the ribon wires used to connect, but nothing metal or appearing to be a contact. Im sorry i cant post any pic since my jukebox is allso my camera, but i'll see if i can find / photochop something. | ||

| Your not screwed yet The only thing you can do is clean the ribbon end and the glass with rubbing alcohol, and try to align them as good as you can, then tape the back of it. If you clean the contacts good, then it should work. if some of the pixels are woking, but not all, try realigning the ribbon, or try to apply more pressure with the tape. I sure hope this helps, and good luck ![]() | ||
