Default Building Test PSU

In the building a test power supply mod i have a small form factor atx power supply and I do not have a green wire. It is some other color and I can't figure otu what two wires. are the ones....coudl anyone tell me how many wires in the "green" wire is and on which side of the atx plug it is(the one with the clip to attach to the mobo or the other other side) thanx

Alrite so if i put a switch that would "connect" or "dissconnect" the two wires suffice to turn it on...

Sounds reasonable - I think most people just yank the wire outta the plug or outta the wall [which isn't very pimp is it?]

See the green loop of wire in the picture above? Put your switch in that loop.

I have a question on a similar topic.

I'm thinking about adding a second PSU to a rig, can I desolder all the ATX headers (just keeping the supply rails) and just run the Green & Black into the primary PSU.?

I see no reason why not jinx. And, buy jumpering into the green and black on the primary ...... the psu will power up with the system.

Yes Jinx, I did that by soldering the wires together. I did have one Antec PSU give up the ghost while doing that, but the replacement held for a long, long time. I think the PSU blowout was an anomaly.

I eventually went to an ATX/AT PSU configuration which worked out nice. The AT handled all the light and fan functions, while the ATX handled the mobo and drives.
