folder dissapeared

i have a folder full of all my pictures (its very important) and this morning when i turned my computer on it dissapeared

it still takes up space on the hard drive but its not there

can i get it back?

its on an external hard drive if that makes any difference

If they were .jpg files then just do a search for *.jpg and make sure that search all drives and search hidden files and folders and search system files is all selected. If they are there then this should find them.

You might want to try this program.

It gives you a visual representation of every file of your computer. You should be able to find that folder with spacemonger if it still takes up space.

the folder that you had your pictures folder in...go to tools-->folder options-->view tab-->hidden files and folders-->check "show hidden files and folders". Then, if you don't want it hidden, right click your pictures folder-->properties-->attributes-->check read-only. Hope that helps.
