| i just reinstalled windows and finished downloading and installing everyhting i need...and i just figured out something potentially horrible on my previous install of windows i had a partition in my drive...and when i reinstalled windows i guess i only formatted one part of the drive cus its only showing up as 35gb when its a 74gb drive is there any way i can get the rest of my drive formatted and usable without formatting the whole drive and losing all 34gb of stuff on it? | ||

| It sounds like you've got two partitions. All you need to do is format the other partition. You should be able to do this by going to control panel - administrative tools - computer management then click on disk management. You should see the partition there and can format it by right clicking and then clicking format. Make sure you format the right partition. | ||

| comp king is right about the 98/me theory..but does the other parition show up in windows explorer or in my computer...cuz it really should..if its not... perhaps you can use ur friends to slave/back it up..then delete the partition the next time you install windows also what hojo said would be probably the best thing to do...assuming you see itin windows explorer etc | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Partition magic will allow you to expand your partition over the old partition. please know you will lose anything on the old partition that way, if you have anything there copy it off, expand partition then copy back. partiton magic will offer to put everything into a single folder for you but I do not trust it that far. | |
