Unhappy Why me

Well another month and yet another psu, last month my Hiper R 580w failed & now it's replacement just failed , i'm just glad it only took itself out.
So now i'm running on my back-up FSP bluestorm 500w psu, i've read nothing but good things about these Hiper R psu's but i don't think i'll be touching or recommending one every again so it's time for a Seasonic me thinks ......

Yeah, wow, I've never heard any cases of Hipers failing...I guess just certain people have bad luck...

Have you checked the voltage coming from the house? if it is out of spec, that would account for so many power supplies dying quickly.

I will say I have had very good luck with Antec (2 of them with several years of reliable service)

Currently my favorite is the OCZ SLI 520 wich is on sale at new egg with a rebate for 109$

It is the "Ultimate" power supply in my eyes, it has FULLY adjustable voltage rails (So many others tend to be low under a heavy OC load)

It is a single rail (Dual rail is NOT what it's cracked up to be!) and has enough nutz to support a Pentium D X1900XT crossfire on Digi's rig when the "Dual Rail" 600 watt name brand power supply wouldn't!

I replaced my "Blown up" PCPower and Cooling 510SLI (Lasted 3 months) with it on my 6800SLI rig, and I have been a happy camper since!

And if it is your line fluctuating, I would recommend a line regulator (with or without battery backup) from APC. Here's a link to the regulator without battery... http://www.apcc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=67

I undersatnd about the wall socket voltage, but all my kit is running off a 8 way gang plug & nothing else is showing any signs of going faulty.
Also i had my skt A rig which was o.c'd to hell with the FSP psu running for 3 months off the same wall socket before i put this rig together without any hicups.
Anyway i just ordered a Seasonic S12-500 which is plenty for my setup, just means i'll have to do some cable management .

Oh the other Hiper failed on an Asus A8n-SLI deluxe & this one failed on a DFI expert ....

Wow thats alotta failing, I had this problem with non brand or trusted quality versions, such as my diablotek 550w would die but then work about a week later, and then 2 months latter die

The stock 350w that came in my raidmax just wasnt enough to power the 6 HDD and three CDrom along side my three lamps and 12 fans, so i had to get the 30$ diablotek, ended up swapping a 450w powmax case PSU in it then fried that with a TEC setup running (dual TEC's on a Stock PSU) so now i have a TTGI Plug n Power 550W and my system could be more stable

sorry to hear your losses, but i like the features of that OCZ necro metioned

told the person if he plugs it in there again, im not paying to rma the parts...

he didnt listen to me and fried the ps and mobo again...

he didnt belive me that it was the wall socket... he got pissed and threatend to sue me....

i told him fine.. ill replace the parts, if he plugs his parents computer into the socket... and like a dumbass he did.... and managed to fry thier computer

I would definitely have that outlet checked. I started to give you some better advise, then
I realized your across the sea. I would count the number of outlets and lights on that
circuit and then ask a local electrician how many should be on a circuit with whatever
size breaker/fuse is connected. Where I'm at you can have 8 outlets/lights max. on a
15 amp circuit. This is usually fine unless you start plugging in gizmo's that require a lot
of power.

There's no point in having the outlets checked as i'm moving this weekend (just found out this morning kinda short notice), to a bigger house, bigger garden, bigger bills & more mess to clean up , so with any luck ths won't happen again .
Thanks for everyones input with this it much appreciated
