Unhappy Scsi Raid problem

To start if this has been posted here before, i apologize in advance but here we go.

I recently purchased an adaptec 2100s scsi raid controller oem. I've flashed the bios, smor, amd i20 bios and i have the most recent drivers but even through all of this, my 3 hard drives (man3184mp) arent showing up in the bios or windows(this includes drive managment). Ive tested the drives and cable(which includes a terminator) with the scsi host card i've been using and everything checks out. Also, ive checked for irq conflicts and i'm pretty sure there were none (windows said there were none but i dunno). What i'm wondering is, is the cd needed to recognize the drives? or is there something else im missing? Thx in advance

When you say they're not showing up in BIOS, are you talking about the card's setup BIOS? It should show the "Press F10 for SCSI Select Config" message, which will let you check the drives' connections, etc. Since the card loads it's own BIOS after the motherboard does, they won't show up in the board's BIOS setup screen. If they don't show up in the card's setup screen, then something is physically wrong, i.e. the cable is bad, or some of the drives are set to the same SCSI ID, or something.

quick turnaround cool!....anyway
the drives don't show up in the bios configured with the card or the board (but like u said the card is the only one that matters). About the scsi id, ive tried only using 1 drive and still i got nothing. I do have another scsi drive not in raid or on the same card, i didnt think id's could conflict that way, can they? And the f10 thing, the only option i have for my raid card is control a for smor manager which should show something but it doesnt. Ill double check on the id thing right now, thx.

Edit

i tried the drives on my regular card and got this:
HBA id Rev Sync Wide Cyl Hd Sec
0 0 5507 160 16 1024 255 63
0 1 5507 160 16 1024 255 63
0 2 5507 160 16 1024 255 63

I checked the cable with the regular card again and i checked a cable i use for the regular with the raid card again and i get the same thing

If I understand you correctly, you actually have two SCSI cards in the machine? And the drives show up on the other one? Have you tried removing the "regular" card and just boot with the raid card? It may be conflicting with it... hard to say without seeing the messages. Make sure to include as much info as possible, otherwise we'll bark up the wrong tree all day long.

Looks like the drives are okay if they show up on the other card. I'd guess the raid card is the culprit, from eliminating the possibilities. Try booting just that one and see.

I have tried to boot the raid card by itself. As for error messages, when i try to create an array, it says "To create an array, a hba with raid compatability is needed or there are no devices present". Ill edit the post in a min and get you a screen shot of what it looks like in windows, but besides that i dont recall and error messages.

edit

three pictures of the configurations and 1 picture of the only error msg i get

plus...a bonus....device manager

Edit...again
I dunno if this is gonna help but...when the card goes through its 2 bios (i2o and smor) it stalls on post for 5min or so and it has a message that says it changed its latency from 20h to 40h...trying to get as much info on this as possible

The mobo is Asus a8n-sli and the psu is xion 600w, ive basically given up on this card lol(/sigh)
But thanks for the attempt anyway
