Unhappy Replacement Creative Sub?

What's up all...
As some of you may know, a recent storm w/ lightning blew a lot of my home electroncs. Next on the list of replacement items is a speaker system for my computer. I have the Creative T7700 7.1 surround system, and the sub's electronics are blown. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get my hands on a replacement sub, or, better yet, a good deal on the 7.1 gigaworks system. (you know, below $450...).

Or, if neither can happen, does anyone have any expertise on troubleshooting sound circuits?

Thanks all.

Well, idk about circuits, or replacing your sub, but I can reccomend a system.

Logitech z5500's

I bought these a couple weeks ago to replace my x-530's. What an amzing improvment, these things are so freakin nice, and the sub is easily as big as a 17" CRT.

Hmmm, although I must admit I am a creative fan, not to mention a 7.1 surround fan, that may be an option, since it's an astonishing 505 watt (that's pretty good from what I've seen for a computer sound system) and only $250.

Thank you, although I am no where near done trying to find solutions... My b-day is comming in a few months, I just trying to find options for replacement speaker stuff from the big storm, and well, as I will be 16 then, I'll be looking for a car too... that was kinda off topic, lol.

I can assure that you wont be dissapointed with those z5500's.

I've actually used them in outdoor parties, they can get seriously loud and not blow out.

I can 'vouch for Wafflesomd's choice...

A friend of mine, who works at a local Media Markt, demonstrated these to me....
Must admit.... I was quite amazed of the output.... nice, clean "round" sound, 'crisp
highs, deep bass & a perfectly satisfactory mid tone output....

Any "distortion" appears only on extremely high volumes....

If you are in doubt... just listen to them, in a shop nearby you!
