| I am interested in a printer that can print in bulk daily and not break down every other day. At my wifeÂ’s restaurant they print between 50 and 100 pages daily and the cheap printers they buy donÂ’t last long. I think they have gone through 3 in the past year. Does anyone here use printers daily? Do you have a suggestion for a reliable printer capable of small volume printing on a daily basis? Thanks for your suggestions. | ||

Any idea whether it needs to be colour or black and white? Does it need to be a networkable printer too - or will USB only do it? I actually source printers and hardware for corporates - so I've got tons of resources at my disposal ![]() We usually quote HP ones as they seem to get the least complaints ![]()

Mostly black and white but a little color on rare ocasions. Network capable is not of high importance. What is the price diffrence of Network capable vs USB only? Obviously I have done no reshearch on this as she has only started asking me today about printers.

That's cool, the networkable ones cost more (price varies depending on model) though, but I'll grab a couple of model numbers & specs for you if you'd like (Some may not be available in the US though - I'm on the other side of the earth to you) *eats lunch* ![]() EDIT - I'd probably recommend something along the lines of the HP Color Laserjet 2550l or 2550ln (networkable version) if you can find them over there. They can do ~30,000 pages per month; the black toner cartridges do about 5k pages (5% coverage); colour ones do about 2k and it's also the cheapest colour laser that HP do. When your lady goes looking for a printer, the major thing to look for is the price of the consumables and their lifetime - the cheap printers generally have pricy ink/toner kits that don't last too long - that's where they make their money. | I second the HP. I used to work for a technical writing company and we used to print books on a HP LaserJet 5Si/MX. This printer took a lot of abuse and never failed us as long as we serviced it on time (according to the page count schedule) if you treat it like cr@p it will treat you back the same... Another thing is that on eBay you can find a lot of printer supplies for cheap.

| dump the inkjet printer... or keep one around for color prining... if you need a stable printer... go lazer... the ink is more... but when it comes down to cost per a sheet.. lazer is alot cheaper. lazer printers can be expensive... and dont buy the cheap 99$ samsung's and hp's you get what you pay for.. i would spend 400 to 700 on a black and white printer... i would look at hp, xerox and rioch... avoid brother and panasoinc, lexmark and other no name brands... if you want to try and buy.. i would look into renting one from an office supply space... | ||
