| Well I have gotten good at tweaking RAM and I though I knew what I was doing but I am still running into problems. Ok I just got 2 sticks of 1GB OCZ EL PC4000 Platinum in the mail yesterday. They run at 2.8v and 3-3-3-8-T1 I installed them in slots 2 and 4 on my So far I have got them to run at DDR250 (500MHz) using a RAM divider and a FSB speed of 200 so that my cpu clock is 2.0Ghz (stock for my opty 146) However when I try and run them with the FSB at 300 (my every day speed) and a RAM divider of 166 the system will not boot to windows. I have given them 2.8v and even tried pushing that up to around 3.0v and still nothing. I am using a RAM divider of 166....so if my math is not wrong they should be running at 500HMz right: 300 / (200/166) 300 / 1.2048192771084337349397590361446 = 249...or 500MHz ddr I have also tried using a RAM divider of 140 and that works with a FSB speed 0f 300 but CPU-z will not report a RAM speed....the box is just blank, but I know they would be running at 210 only 420HMz ddr. So any one got any ideas, I will be home in about an hour so I am going to work at it more then. I have a feeling that this could all be caused by this little problem (see link) If it is the problem I found a Opty 146 CAB2E on eBay that I might go ahead and pick up...from what I have herd they do better under water then my CABYE. I still donÂ’t feel right running mine now with a pin missing even if it works. Thanks for any help you can give! | ||

| Well....... I got home and played with it more. I am really stuck now, the system is very unstable and just plain being a bi!ch..... I am going to go ahead and get a new Opty I really think that is my problem, and like I said I dont like using one that has a pin missing. I hope I have better luck with the new one, I really dont want to RAM these as I already posted the others on eBay and can not take them down, if I did I would be with out a system for some time..... Well I guess now I have to wait till the new one comes ![]() | ||

| When using a non standard memory divider (133 or 166) it's normal for CPUZ not to read it. Does it work at any other speed? (250~290FSB) What LDT multiplier are you using? How about LDT and NB voltages? Have you tried a new/updated Bios? EDIT: Sorry to hear about the CPU, it could be the problem. | ||

Yah I have come accross that CPUz problem before so it did not suprise me. I tryed the LDT at 4x and 3x and did not help any. Yah I have ued 2 different Bios versions no luck Yah I really think it is the CPU this time. Well I have seen that the CAB2Es like water cooling then my CABYE so I am not too upset, I just wish that I did not have to spend the money. It is still weird how that pin just came off like that, I was so carful ![]() EDIT: Thanks for the help! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
