Default DVD Burner question

Hey everyone,
Decided i need a new DVD Burner for christmas as my DVD drive is failing to read CDs or rather some parts of CDs and my CD Burner refuses to open :S. Once open, the cds sometimes rattle like crazy.

So.....I've come down to the NEC ND-3550A
There is a silver OEM one that matches my rig color, but the retail version is beige and comes with software.
Is the software worth the extra 9 dollars? Or should I just go for the silver.
I know it's a trivial question, but I just wanted your opinions. Thanks guys!

Well unless the software that comes with the burner is something other than the OEM version of Nero, i say save the $9 and go buy the retail version of the burning software. From my experience , every time i've tryed burning with the OEM software it always say i need a plug-in or not a supported format or some other thing. So im assuming that the software that they put in with the burner is the most stripped down version possible and you'll need to upgrade anyhow. just my $0.02

I have to agree with HTRN on this one. Save the $9
As for the trial version of nero express.....It's okay but its limited what you can do.

Most of the software they bundle with these drives you'll never use or install it once and never install it again.

Just my Two Cents.....!
