| Hey every/anyone, I have a 60gb WD and an 80gb WD, the 60 is NOISY as hell, and the 80 keeps crappin out when tryin to install an OS and iv'e try like 6 times.** i get that "not equal to ....... BSOD** , with everything i tryed. I'm wondering if it would be possible to salvage one drive out of the 2. Like maybe take the green board off the 60 and pop it on the 80 or ???? any idea's or am i being a dreamer, and should just accept defeat. | ||

I'de say accept defeat. Once you crack the seal on HDD's the life of it is limited as aven a speck of dust will kill a platter once it starts moving. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It may work but you better know the number of cylinders and the sect size and all that crap for the drive your repairing. The green board has the chip that stores all that info for the Auto detection settings. And it may work anyways if you stick the 60 board in the 80. It will just report it as a 60 (possibility). If you 80 to 60 I'm sure you'll have to adjust it yourself. | ||
