Screen Problems!

My laptop is experiencing an intermittent fault with the screen. Once a week or so, it will randomly stop displaying windows and switch to something along the lines of the pattern below. The only way out of this seems to be rebooting, as you can't see any of Windows. What's going on, and is my screen faulty? It's the standard 1920x1200 TrueLife TFT that comes on the Dell XPS M170 models.

could be a bad screen.... next time it happens try moving the screen around...

but then again,, it could be your video card...

It's been doing this on and off for a few weeks now. Where are you today, have you gone to your Aunts, or its that tomorrow night?

Went into uni this morning and am on my Aunts PC now, will be back by tomorrow afternoon. (I know you miss me if I go away for more than one day) LOL!
