Default monitor problems Please help!

Ok yesterday I sleeved my power supplies cables(which was a pain in the ass). But then when I get done and have everything hooked up, I go to turn on my copmuter. Well it turns on but what happens is that the monitor dosent wake up. Like it is on but the power light is oarnge. I cant figure it out. My video card is hooked up. At first i though maybe when I didnt put the molex connectors back on right after I sleeved them. Well I used some power cables that I knew were working because they were powering my fans. Well still nothing happens. Any ideas?

This may not work but I swear I have done this a few times and it worked after having dang near the same problem you described. Change out the power cord that you plug the monitor into the wall with. Switch it around with the one on your PC. Know what cable I am talking about? The only reason I suggest this is that this happened to me twice and this solved the problem. It may have been a big coincidence but hey... worked for me. Let me know if you try it.fficeffice" />

basic questions....

1 does your video card have a power cord that needs to be plugged into it?

2 have you plugged in a diffrent monitor? or can u hear windows boot up?

if not reset the bios (pop the battery)

I wouldn't pop the battery, I would use the 'Clear CMOS' jumper.

Also, you should make sure you vid card is seated and all.

Ok I got it fixed, what I had to do is power on my computer with everything but the motherboard. So I unplugged my motherboard turned it on. Then turned it off hooked up the motherboard then turned it back on and now it works
