| well, the batteries on my mx700 have pretty much died out. it started when the red light was blinking on the mouse (meaning that the batteries needed to be charged) so i charged it. and it charged for three days straight. I'm using a spare mouse now, but I need to know, can i switch the rechargable batteries in the mouse with these rechargable energizer ones i see at the store (i think theyre meant for cameras) or do i need to search for a certain brand/composition? | ||

| You should be able to. But what if it's the base station thats the problem? Have you made sure the contacts are clean (check both bas and mouse)? How old are the batteries you have? Otherwise go ahead and try the new batteries. NiMH are pretty much standard so they should be ok. Remember though, the higher the MAH rating on the battery, the longer it should last, but I'm not sure how accurate the mx battery indicator will be if you buy a higher MAH rated battery. If what I said doesn't make sense it's because I'm buzzed. Sorry. | ||

| You can use any brand rechargables in the MX700. I have one, it was my previous mouse. I used a battery charger that held 4 batteries, and had 2 always in the mouse itself. Every few days I would put a new set into the mouse. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...108-902&depa=0 | ||

well, both base and mouse look fine, and the batteries are less than a year old. like 3-4 months old. kinda shocked me actually, that they'd die so soon..and theyre RECHARGABLE!!

| i used rayovac rechargables in mine since i had one of those one hour charger things. the batteries that came with my mx700 were taken out immediately and are in my spare rechargable battery box in case i somehow forget to recharge all 18 of my rayovac batteries. if you can't find any NiMH batteries, you can always just use normal AA batteries. Just don't stick it into the charger with normal batteries in it. | ||

I actually put normal AAs in my mouse and shoved them in the charger. Nothing happened, although i'm starting to think that it actually drained the batteries faster. The original rechargables are in the mouse now, and every so often the red light would blink, and then it switches to the green light, and then back to the red light, and then stops. Not really a problem for me seeing as im using a corded mouse now, but it is kind of odd.
